WWE Stomping Grounds Preview & Predictions

United States Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Ricochet

Michael: Ricochet will defeat Joe to win the title, most likely with a roll-up.

Vince: The strap stays with Joe for now at least. He will get DQ’d, so the win will be with Ricochet but not the belt. The entire feud is less then a week old, there is no way they end it that quick. This one should go for at least 60-90 days.

Jerry – Ricochet won a fatal four way to be get this title opportunity, and while he does deserve the title match, he will not win his first title in WWE.

To me, it will be better for Samoa Joe to lose the title so he can maybe move into a program for the WWE Title, but that is not how the McMahon’s see things.

They think Samoa Joe is a mid-carder who needs the title strap over his shoulder more than the relative newcomer Ricochet does, so I see Samoa Joe winning this by submission after a hard fought match.

Ryan – This is my sleeper pick for the match of the night. The athleticism of Ricochet vs the pure power of Samoa Joe should make for a great match and will be better than the Samoa Joe vs Rey Mysterio matches we had been getting.

In the end, having a title on Samoa Joe is just too good to take away this quickly, especially considering how he “lost” the title at Money in the Bank to Mysterio.

Mike – Ricochet
