Grade – C
Reason – The second he lost the title to Lashley, everyone in the room knew he was winning the Royal Rumble. This was terribly done and simply not needed to have him win. Plus, I’m pretty sure that the number 30 entrant has now had more Royal Rumble winners then the “coveted 27” that they continue to push in the video package. A number 27 entrant into the Rumble hasn’t won in 20 years, why do they keep pushing that archaic stat. Enough already with the 27 gimmick.
It’s also sad to see how quickly they have lost faith in Big E Langston. I was counting on either him or Drew McIntyre to win it. Instead, you get Brock Lesnar yet again, who wrestled in the match all of 2:32 seconds.
I’ll say the same thing about this match however that I said about the Womens, there were guys in there that shouldn’t have been over NXT guys who deserved it. Guys like Bad Bunny, Shane McMahon and Johnny Knoxville were pointless to have in there. Really, the same could be said for Rick Boogs, Madcap Moss and Dominik Mysterio.
