The 2023 WWE Royal Rumble was this past weekend and delivered in several ways and missed in a few others.

The long awaited Bray Wyatt return to the ring under delivered as fans were once again reminded that he is all flash and very little content.  I do hope however that this doesn’t halt the push of LA Knight. Without the Fiend, Wyatt doesn’t have much to offer.

Alexa Bliss failed to capture the RAW Women’s Championship from Bianca Belair.  Perhaps a returning Asuka will have better luck at WrestleMania.

Rhea Ripley is the answer in the WWE Women’s Division.  She dominated the Women’s Royal Rumble after entering first.  She is the real deal folks, and will continue to prove it with a revenge win over Charlotte at WrestleMania.

Cody Rhodes coming back to win the Rumble on the men’s side was the right call, but it is clear now, that Gunther may be the next “Big Thing” as he looked incredible.  It is Gunther that may be the guy to eventually end the reign of the Tribal Cheif.

Speaking of the Tribal Chief, it looks like trouble in the Bloodline as Sami Zayn sided with best friend Kevin Owens and attempted to stop the postmatch beatdown of KO. This sets up Montreal perfectly for the two too collide on Roman Reigns path to WrestleMania against Cody Rhodes.  Zayn won’t win, but it will be one Hell of a show with an emotional crowd invested.
