WWE Fastlane Paints Clear Picture For WrestleMania 37

Fastlane opened up tonight with a dark match where the United States Championship was on the line.  The slow but steady push of Matt Riddle continued as he defended successfully over Mustafa Ali.  This pretty much confirms the fact that Retribution may be on it’s final legs, which would be good news to everyone’s ears.

It wasn’t exactly the Mega Powers splitting but almost as predictable as another Tag loss for Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks further set the stage for their faceoff at WrestleMania.  I’m not real sure who will face the Tag Champs of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, but they have been gaining steam as a team for awhile now, and deserve a spot on the card.

Big E defeated Apollo Crews once again, proving that maybe the 5th time wasn’t the charm for Crews to unseat the IC gold from Big E. The post match attack by Crews on Langston leads me to believe, this one  STILL isn’t over yet. That is very painful news.

A squash mash with Braun Strowman destroying Elias did nothing but further clear the path for his match with Shane McMahon at WrestleMania as well.  Year in, year out, the WWE continues to have no idea on how to use Strowman at Mania.  Last year the painted themselves in a corner and got lucky he wasn’t on the card until the very last second versus Goldberg.

Seth Rollins defeated Shinsuke Nakamura while Drew McIntyre took down Sheamus in two matches that meant nothing more than killing time.  It was a risky move to have McIntyre in a match that physical, this close to WrestleMania.  For Nakamura, he will go down as one of the biggest busts in WWE history.

The final two matches of the night made the entire PPV worth it.  While Alexa Bliss and Randy Orton didn’t exactly hook it up, it led to an appearance by a char broiled Fiend which looked absolutely chilling.  His attack on Randy Orton set up the next few weeks leading us to Super Sunday.

Speaking of WrestleMania weekend, the main event is looking cannot miss!  Daniel Bryan made Roman Reigns tap out tonight, however before he could win the match, Edge attacked both men with a chair.  While Reigns would go on to win the match, it is clear they are building perfectly for a three way dance at WrestleMania for the World Title.
