Sure, Jimmy Butler leaving for Miami was a blow, however, with Josh Richardson and Al Horford joining a roster that already featured Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid, this team is much better!
They didn’t get many headlines this offseason, but the Sixers had the second-best offseason of any team in the East. It’s not even close as they are the front runners coming into this season. Butler was a distraction, guys like Richardson and Horford are not.
I’ll say it again, upgrade! Maybe not with overall talent from Horford to Butler, but certainly with leadership qualities. I’ll admit Butler is much more talented than the combo of Richardson and Horford, but the chemistry will be better, and they needed that.
I also firmly believe that Tobias Harris will have a better career in the long run then JJ Reddick and Butler. My opinion, not fact, not law, simply opinion.
