What do you want me to say? Who didn’t see this a mile away? Davis and James are two of the best players in the league, in fact I would say two of the top seven hands down.
This move happened before the free agency period began, and at the time made the Lakers the front runners in the West and also to get Leonard.
Despite not landing Leonard and having a questionable supporting cast, the thought of Davis and James together with Kyle Kuzma and Danny Green is still very enticing.
Add in the fact that Boogie Cousins signed with them earlier this week as well, and the Lakers are a serious threat to win it all. On paper, they have the best starting five in the NBA.
