What You May Have Missed On NXT Tonight!

NXT had competition tonight as AEW Dynamite bumped up a night from their normal Wednesday night time slot to go head-to-head with their arch rival.  NXT didn’t blink and put on one Hell of a show.

If you stuck with AEW for the most part and missed NXT for any reason, here just some of the highlights you missed.

Cody Rhodes big announcement

He says that the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is returning, there will be a Men’s Breakout Tournament, and he is the Special Guest General Manager for the night.  He goes on to Cody Rhodes books Ilja Dragunov vs Dirty Dom for the NXT Title with LA Knight as the Special Guest Ref LA Knight.

Shotzi takes her tank to the ring, and says she and Scarlett will host NXT Halloween Havoc as Asuka beats Roxanne Perez.

Butch, Tyler Bate, & Ridge Holland defeated Gallus in a Pub Rules Match.

This was more or less a hardcore match that got some good pops and kept the crowd going.

John Cena gives a passionate speech about how they “are all NXT”.  A play on the word “All Elite”.  He then avoisd, narrowly, an attack by Bron Breaker.

Champion vs Champion Match

Ilja Dragunov beats Dirty Dom to retain the NXT Title After the match he is attacked by Dijak.  Rhodes goes on to book a Dijak vs Corbin Baron match to decide the number one contender to Draganovs NXT World Championship at Halloween Havoc.

Tony D’Angelo and Channing Stacks Lorenzo convince Cody Rhodes to book a 10 Team Tag Battle Royal to decide the contenders to their tag belts.

As we cut to commercial, Jade Cargill arrives and is greeted by Shawn Michaels.

Speaking of women, up next Lola Vice defeats Dani Palmer in the Women’s NXT Breakout Tournament to advance to the semi-finals.

A little Chase University promo is run, with its newest student Jaci Jayne. As Andre Chase attempts to teach class on Halloween Havoc, the students start focusing on their phones, which sets Chase off.  It turns out they were distracted by the announcement of Chase and Hudson getting put into the tag team battle royal next week.

We cut to backstage with Paul Heyman, giving an incredible speech to Bron Breakker in a fashion only he can. He tells Breakker that it will be him one day, headlining a WrestleMania. He then calls Roman Reigns the second Breakker leaves the room.

Before they get to the main event, they show an AMAZING promo hyping up Brian Pillman Jr, who is sitting back watching a highlight video of his father.  Pillman quickly reminds everyone that wrestling is in his blood and that he is his own man, “Les King”.

Breakker and Carmelo have yet another five-star classic which ends with Melo on top once again.  Important to note on this is that Solo Sikoa arrived to take out John Cena, which will lead to Cena vs Reigns at Crown Jewell.

The show ended on a high note, with The Undertaker coming out to destroy Bron Breakker.  Taker sounded awful, but still looked good as he came out on his bike, and had the American Badass gimmick in full swing!

There is no doubt, NXT won the night!
