The UFC has grown tremendously over the last decade or so not just in America but worldwide, but the entire world. They have been to places such as Brazil, Manchester, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, and France. Any I’ve the UFC is promoting a paper view event the venue it is in is almost always sold out. That being said, with all of the places the UFC visits around the world, which one is the greatest venue that the UFC has visited? I believe that Venue is the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas Nevada.
Atmosphere
For starters, the atmosphere at T-Mobile Arena is always electric. The fans are always engaged and rowdy especially when two beloved fighters are throwing it down in the octagon. The more into the fights, the fans are the more enjoyable the experience is for the overall product and Vegas always comes in with a roasting crowd
Location
Many would suggest that New York one of Maddison Square Garden is the best venue purely based on location alone. It is a big city with celebrities all around and other big names. Vegas, however, has been a growing hot spot over the last couple of years. We have seen Organizations such as the NFL and NHL move teams out to Vegas due to the high market the city holds. The MLB is following suit as the Oakland Athletics will also be moving into the city of lights. Many people from all over the United States are moving to Vegas as it has become such a household staple in the country.
So many tourists visit Las Vegas and the events the UFC holds attract them along with the Vegas locals. The fighters also love fighting there and many even train there. Big names like the number 1 contender for the middleweight belt Former middleweight champion Sean Strickland, former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka, and former UFC champion Francis Ngannou all live and train in the historic city.
Big Cards
The UFC always tends to put their biggest names and biggest cards in the T-Mobile arena. For example, the UFC all-time highest-selling paper view Nurmagomedov VS McGregor was held in the mobile arena. Nope yes, Conor McGregor being the biggest superstar the UFC has ever had does inflate those numbers quite a bit but there are other examples than just that instance. The UFC held one of the biggest most stacked cards of all time earlier this April UFC 300.
Fighters such as Alex “Poaton” Pereira, Max Holloway, Justin Gathje, and Charles Olivera were all on the same card. All of those fighters named could headline their event but that’s beside the point. McGregor vs Diaz 1 and 2 were both held in the T-mobile arena, both of those fights being two of the top ten all-time grossing paper views in the company’s history.
Other Venues
A couple of other venues such as the infamous Madison Square Garden and the MGM Grand Arena could make a good argument for being the best venue in their respective ways. The MGM arena hosted the downfall of Anderson Silva after losing to Chris Wideman on a horrid injury as well as seeing the beautiful send-off to the great George “Rush” St. Pierre as he would defend his belt against Johnny Hendricks and rode off into the sunset as the welterweight G.O.A.T. MSG has had its fair share of events too such as seeing Conor McGregor become the first ever multi-weight class champion as he TKOd Eddie Alvarez in the second round with a series of swift powerful strikes. As of recently though I truly believe that The T-Mobile arena has overtaken these with all the big-time events that they have hosted over the last decade or so.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it is ultimately the fan’s view of what the best venue is, I am just giving you, my take. The production of the T-Mobile arena is second to none and the city of Las Vegas adds to the energy of the arena itself. It has the power to attract tourists and the locals that love the UFC. The arena has hosted the biggest fight cards of the decade ands hasn’t disappointed when doing so.
From Legends such as Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov having their intense clash to the epic UFC 300 card where, in my opinion, the new face of the brand Alex Pereira defended his belt against the former champ Jamal Hill in the most stacked card in the company’s history. Madison Square Garden and the MGM Grand are great venues but all I am saying is T-Mobile arena is better. Who knows though, with the UFC hosting its first event in the new Las Vegas Sphere, that opinion could change very soon.
