The Lady Demons returned back to action Wednesday night as they hosted Padua. In the first quarter, the Lady Demons did a great job setting the pace and showed no signs of rust from the two-week quarantine. Crisp passing and getting out in transition helped the Lady Demons end the quarter up 17-8.

After increasing the lead to 21-8, Padua began to claw back. After a few big shots by the Bruins, the score was 23-18. After a timeout by Westlake, the Lady Demons did a great job closing out the half on an 8-2 run. Heading into halftime Westlake was up 31-20.

The third quarter brought increased intensity on the defensive end by the Lady Demons as they held Padua to just four points! Heading into the 4th and final quarter, the Lady Demons lead was now 38-24. In the final quarter, the Lady Demons continued to keep Padua at bay. As the final buzzer rang, the Lady Demons secured a 47-32 victory.

All in all, it was a solid defensive performance by the Lady Demons and an overall team effort on the offensive end. Eight players scored, with Anna Williams (10 pts) and Summer Salem (8 pts) leading the way. Abbie Gardner played another great all-around game with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.

The Lady Demons are now 6-0 on the season and travel to North Ridgeville tonight for a big SWC showdown! All three levels will be in action tonight: 4:30/5:45/7:00. Go Demons!
