Westlake falls to Normandy 9-3 On The Diamond

Nothing came easy for Westlake Varsity Demons on Thursday, as they fell 9-3 to Normandy Varsity Invaders

 

In the first inning, Westlake Varsity Demons got their offense started when Hugh Sullivan singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

 

Normandy Varsity Invaders knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the second inning.  Nolan VanSickle drove in one when VanSickle singled.

 

Normandy Varsity Invaders pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning.  In the third Nadir Ibrahim singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and an error scored one run for Normandy Varsity Invaders.

 

Normandy Varsity Invaders scored four runs in the fifth inning.  Justin Ford, Dylan Skidmore,  Jimmy Rockow, and Ibrahim all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

 

Ben Rabatin was the winning pitcher for Normandy Varsity Invaders. Rabatin surrendered two runs on five hits over five innings, striking out six.  Logan George threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

 

Evan Kortes took the loss for Westlake Varsity Demons. The pitcher surrendered five runs on five hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

 

Aidan Keir led Westlake Varsity Demons with two hits in four at bats.

 

Normandy Varsity Invaders racked up eight hits in the game.  Skidmore, Ibrahim, and Shawn Kessie all managed multiple hits for Normandy Varsity Invaders.
