BROOKLYN, Ohio – The Westlake Demons hockey team claim the championship title for the
blue division with an 8-2 win over the Aurora Greenman.

Westlake came out strong in the first period with a goal from junior Seth Schons, who is also the
captain of the Demons. Accompanied by an assist by senior Cooper Albers. With little scoring in
the first period, Westlake center Dalton DeLozier managed to score once more, with an assist
from junior Macalister Smith, and another assist by Cooper Albers.

Lots of game time down in the attack zone for Westlake, and good saves from the Aurora goalie
Max Stefano. Unfortunately, it still was not enough for the Greenman as they went into the first
intermission scoreless.

At the start of the second period, Westlake continued to dominate on the ice, making big plays
and attacking the puck. Aurora junior Jared Janzig gets a small breakaway but was denied a goal
by Westlake’s first-time goalie Dylan Hunter.

First penalty of the game came in the second period on Westlake’s Seth Schons, two minutes for
roughing. A great opportunity for Aurora to take advantage of, but Westlake’s big time goal
scorer Macalister Smith came in with shorthanded goal, making it 3-0.

Smith scores once more making it a 4-0 game. This goal was assisted by Lincoln Verchick. To
close out the second period, Schons scores a goal, as well as junior Luke Hyland put his name up
on the board with a goal making the score at the end of the second period 6-0.

Third period begins with a penalty on Westlake’s Seth Schons. Aurora couldn’t capitalize again,
and Stefano allowed another Westlake goal. Junior Noah Fix, of the Demons, makes the score 7-
0.
Aurora is finally on the board with a goal from Kale Hajek and assisted by Johnathan Janzig. The
Demons have a quick response resulting in another goal by Seth Schons. Score with less than
four minutes left in the game stood at 8-1, Westlake still leading. Aurora came out with another
goal by Kale Hajek, making the final score 8-2.

Aurora showed a great effort, but Westlake truly dominated the rink with a very well-deserved
Baron Cup win.
