Westlake Demon Head Coach Brittney Matuschek has been named our CWC Co-Coach of the along with Jamey Pfahl of Rocky River. Like the River staff, Westlake must deal with some of the top talent in their city going to private schools such as Magnificat, St. Joes, Hathaway Brown, Laurel and Gilmour just to name a few. But they don’t complain about it, they focus on coaching the team that shows up to practice every day and that is why they succeed.
Brittney is something special. She is in her third trimester of pregnancy, works a full time job during the day and still devotes 100% of her spare time and energy into coaching the Demons. She does it because she loves it and has grown into one of the top coaches in the area based on her passion and attention to detail. The Demons are never out of a game with her on the sidelines and proved that with a 13 CWC record this season.
I spoke with Westlake Athletic Director Nick Ranallo who had this to say about is dynamic young coach, “I want to congratulate coach Britt for being named Kee On Sports CWC girls basketball coach of the year. It is a well-deserved honor. In her second year with the program, the team won a conference championship, the programs first since 2020. We are very proud of the coaching staff and the girls on an outstanding season.”
I love watching her coach, she is passionate, driven, focused and her players thrive off of that. We at Kee On Sports couldn’t be prouder of “Coach Britt”. Good luck with the new baby on the way and the playoffs as well!
