The Westlake Demons outdid the Fairview Warriors 42-20 during Friday night’s Homecoming match-up.
Demon Sam Brucchieri got the ball rolling with a 25-yd touchdown to put the visiting team up 7-0 in the first quarter. Arrington Taylor doubled the score on a 2-yd touchdown, and the Demons struck again at the end of the quarter with Hugh Sullivan increasing the lead 21-0 on a 38-yard catch in the end-zone.
The Demon’s defense held strong through the second quarter. Sullivan continued the drive from the offensive to round out the half 28-0.
Brucchieri scored his second touchdown of the game 12 seconds into the third quarter. The Warriors broke the ice with a touchdown to trim the score 35-6, but the Demons were quick to respond. The score read 42-6 as the teams entered the fourth quarter.
The Warriors continued to fight, and Sal Rizzo scored a home touchdown to make the score 42-13. Catching their groove, David Medina would tally another six points onto the score before the game ended.
The final score read 42-20.
