West Geauga Rolls Over Parma 43-0

This game between West G vs Parma was voted channel 3 game of the week. Both teams are walking in with wins last week. West Geauga won in dominating fashion against Geneva 28-0, and Parma comes in on a close win against Fairview 13-8. The Wolverines tried an onside kick to open the game, but was recovered by Parma.

However, Parma didn’t get anything moving at all as they went backwards on the 1st drive. West Geauga would then move the ball quickly on 3 plays, as Quarterback Danny Stewart would connect with WR Torry Stazzone from 9 yards to make it 7-0 with 9:22 in the 1st quarter. Much the same for Parma, as they struggled to even move the ball for positive yards, even moving the ball backwards towards their own endzone.

With 1:09 in the first quarter, Lucas Sadler would block Dominic Deadman punt and would be recovered by Ryan Garvey to make it 14-0. On the ensuing drive, Ethan Deamiches would fumble the ball and be recovered by the Wolverines with 52 seconds in the 1st. With 11:51 in the half, Joseph Dialla would drill a 19 yard field goal to make it 17-0.

After another bad Parma drive, the Wolverines would drive down the field and cap off the drive with a 10 yard run by David Fofana to make it 24-0 with 8:14 left in the half. The next Wolverine series, Dialla would make a 46 yard field goal with 5:41 left in the half. A few series later, Parma would have some type of life in the half, as Logan Ziol would take the fake punt for 8 yards, but a few plays later, Keanu Krall would be picked off by Chris’s Ranallo with 3:45 left in the half.

After West Geauga couldn’t capitalize off the interception, the Redmen would get the ball back but Gavin O’Donnell would fumble the ball with 1:40 in the half. A few plays later, Ziol would pick off quarterback Danny Stewart and return it for 50 yards.

But, Parma would not capitalize off the turnover and the small life line, as Krall would throw his second interception of the game to Joey Hornyak, and take it to the house, to make it 34-0 with seconds left in the half.

Due to the 30 point blowout run clock rule, the 2nd half would go much faster than the first, there were a few key plays that did happen though. In the 3rd quarter Krall would throw his 3rd int to Lucas Sadler. In the fourth, Dialla would make a 24 yarder to make it 37-0, and running back Michael Cavasinni would run it in from 3 yards to make it 43-0, after the extra point was blocked by Derek Schofield.

Final score, 43-0. West Geauga would produce its second straight shutout game. They controlled the game pretty much the entire game (besides the onside kick to start the game) and would cruise to a blowout victory. Parma couldn’t move the ball and was struggling to get anything going on any side of the ball. The Redmen played hard till the end, and they never gave up even when down so much.

Krall would have a rough night and is looking to bounce back next week.
Stewart would go 8-15 100 yards Td and Int.
Torry Stazzone would have 3 catches for 47 yards and 1 TD as he would score in his 13th consecutive game.

Players of the game

Parma: Tyler Germ, he gets player of the game for his heart and dedication to his team. He would get pulled out of the game for injury purposes, but that didn’t stop him from keeping on coming out and playing his heart out for his teammates, even when they were down big. That will always get respect by me, teammates, and his peers.

West Geauga: a tie between Lucas Sadler and Austin Pascoe. For Lucas he would have a block punt that would be recovered for a touchdown, an interception, and a few quarterback hits, for Austin, he would have 5 tackles, 3 for loss and a sack. Both players would be an absolute force of nature, and seemed like there were times where they were untouchable.

For Parma, they fall to 2-1 and will be looking to bounce back against Westlake (1-2)
West Geauga has prevented teams from scoring touchdowns in there last 10 quarters and will improve to 2-1, They will be looking to ride this hot streak as they have a big conference game against Kirtland.
