Week One Tenacious Twelve

The Avon Eagles finally reached the mountaintop last season, taking down Hoban in the state semifinals en route to their first-ever state championship. QB Blake Elder takes over under center with varsity experience from a playoff run two seasons ago that saw Nolan Good injured. All-Ohio safety Jakob Weatherspoon returns to anchor the defense that also features three-star recruit Lance Dawson (Cincinnati). Avon starts the season with a home matchup against the St. Ignatius Wildcats on Thursday night.
