Glenville Tarblooders (5-3, Last Week: 16-28 @ Hoban, Previous Rank: 5)
Victims of playing one of the most rigid schedules in the area, the Tarblooders slipped out of this week’s rankings following a 28-16 loss at Hoban. RB D’Shawntae Jones turned in another big performance on the ground with 158 yards and a touchdown and completed a 67-yard pass late in the game. Glenville will look to right the ship this week when they host Senate League foe Cleveland JFK (3-2).
Kenston Bombers (7-1, Last Week: 36-35 vs. Riverside)
The Bombers are in the driver’s seat of the Western Reserve Conference following a thrilling 36-35 win over the Beavers. In addition to scoring the game-winning two-point conversion, RB Sean Patrick finished with 130 yards and three touchdowns. Kenston will be home again this week when they host Willoughby South (1-7).
Riverside Beavers (7-1, Last Week: 35-36 @ Kenston)
The Beavers dropped a 36-35 heartbreaker to the Bombers, knocking them from the top spot in the WRC. QB Mikey Maloney finished 13-19 for 254 yards and two touchdowns in addition to 120 yards and a score on the ground. Riverside will look to get back into the win column this week when they host Mayfield (3-5).
Wadsworth Grizzlies (7-1, Last Week: 49-7 vs. Stow-Munroe Falls)
The Grizzlies extended their winning streak to five games and kept their spot atop the Suburban-National following a 49-7 win over the Bulldogs. QB Will Stack turned in a monster performance on the ground with 182 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries. Currently holding the #2 seed in Region 1, Wadsworth will travel to Maryland to take on Fort Frye (6-0) on Saturday afternoon.
