Week 10 Northeast Ohio Football Top Five

Glenville Tarblooders (6-3, Last Week: 40-0 vs. Cleveland JFK)

The Tarblooders continued their Senate League dominance with a 40-0 blowout win over the Eagles. Senior RB D’Shawntae Jones carried the ball five times for 174 yards and four touchdowns. Dealing with transfer inquiries from the OHSAA, Glenville welcomed back three players who had been sitting out. The Tarblooders will look to make it 165-straight Senate League victories when they welcome in John Marshall (4-4) on Friday.

 

Medina Bees (6-3, Last Week: 70-38 vs. Shaker Heights)

The Bees have one of the most potent offenses in the state, and it was on full display in their 70-38 win over the Red Raiders. QB Danny Stoddard continued his jaw-dropping senior campaign with 466 yards and four touchdowns through the air, along with 96 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Medina will wrap up its regular season Friday night with a trip to Solon (1-8).

 

Mentor Cardinals (6-3, Last Week: 42-0 @ Strongsville)

Flying under the radar in Region 1, the Cardinals got their fourth straight win with a 42-0 shutout of Strongsville. Junior QB Scotty Fox led the way offensively for Mentor, throwing for 246 yards and two touchdowns, adding another on the ground. The Cardinals will wrap up the regular season Friday night when they host Euclid (1-8).

 

Walsh Jesuit Warriors (8-1, Last Week: 62-38 @ Lake Catholic)

Two weeks after a 50-point blowout at the hands of Hoban, the Warriors are finding their stride at the right time following a 62-38 road win over Lake Catholic. QB Keller Moten turned in a huge all-around performance with 284 yards and three touchdowns through the air, along with 140 yards and two scores on the ground. Walsh Jesuit will look to win the Crown Conference title in the league’s final season when they travel to Padua Franciscan (4-5).
