We Must Remember The Golden Rule When It Comes To Fast Food

Since March 2020, the world has seen a little bit of everything and limits have been pushed to the max.  The one thing that hasn’t changed is the simple rule of “treat others the way you want to be treated”.

Please don’t forget, that includes fast food employees as well.  Just because they are dropping off your pizza, serving your drink or placing toppings on your burger, doesn’t mean they deserve any less respect than you do.  If you want them to come to work and your favorite stops to remain open, be nice!

With the holidays coming up, and people busier and more stressed than ever, please take a moment to step back and look at the big picture.  Let’s be happy that these young men and women even came to work.  We’re in a situation right now in which places that our normally open until midnight are forced to close at 8pm because they simply cannot find anyone to work.

I know this frustration as well as anyone as a sportswriter who depends on places being open late at night after covering a game. The days of counting on Taco Bell being open late, are long gone.

So again, the point is clear, let’s treat the people who do decide to show up and work, with a little more patience and respect, and we will continue to get through this unique time in our world’s history together.

Be safe out there, have fun and remember we’re all in this together!
