Ravenna, Ohio – The Walsh Jesuit Warriors moved on to the regional finals for the second time in three seasons with a 35-14 win over Hudson Friday evening.
They would strike first, thanks in part to the defense. Dylan Hereford picked off a pass to set the Warriors up in Hudson territory. Keller Moten found Aiden Henry for a 22-yard touchdown reception to put the Warriors up, 7-0.
Hudson knotted up the score with a defensive play of their own. Lucas Trautmann picked off a pass and returned it into Walsh Jesuit territory. Not too long after, Peyton Neher found Trey Sharp for an 18 yard TD to knot the score.
Keller Moten rushed for a pair of scores to put the Warriors ahead, 21-7, at the half.
He also ran for an 80-yard touchdown after a big redzone stop by the Warrior defense. This padded the lead to 28-7. Moten wasn’t finished, as he connected with Aiden Henry once more, pushing the lead to 35-7 at the end of three.
Peyton Neher connected with Nolan Tanner for a fourth-quarter touchdown for the Explorers to cap the scoring.
Co-Players of The Game:
Juniors Aiden Henry and Keller Moten. Moten accounted for five scores, three on the ground, and two to fellow classmate Aiden Henry through the air. Henry also had an interception on defense, and the first TD catch was an amazing one-hander worthy of being a SportsCenter Top 10 play nominee.
