Varsity Blues star James Van Der Beek dead at 48

Actor James Van De Beek, best known for his roles in Dawsons Creek and Varsity Blues, passed away today at the age of 48.

The actor passed away from his bout with colorectal cancer

His Instagram account released this statement earlier today.

“Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace,” an Instagram post from his account stated on Wednesday. “There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. For now we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.”
