UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Woodley Filled With Fireworks

I’m not real sure why anyone still trains under Duke Rufus.  His methods and leadership style have been figured out years ago and his fighters continue to struggle to adjust in fights.

Round one belonged to Colby as he pressured Woodley against the fence for the majority of the round.  He didn’t do much damage, but he simply didn’t need to.

Round two was much of the same as Woodley tried for a brief guillotine, but couldn’t sink it in.  Colby spent the rest of the round pushing him up against the cage and picking Woodley apart.

Round Three saw an early eye poke from Colby to Woodley.  From there they had a few brief exchanges and then it was more fun against the fence.  Woodley was cleared winded and couldn’t work himself out of the position.

Fourth round was all Colby ground and pound as Duke Rufus gave zero helpful advice in the corner of Woodley.

After the fourth round, Rufus lets Woodley know he is losing and needs a KO.  He basically gives him common sense instead of actually giving him a technique to win. I’ll say it again, why does anyone train under Rufus?

As for the fifth, Woodley completes his third straight fight looking like he would rather be anywhere else on planet Earth as he verbally submits and holds his ribs in agony after letting go of a non effective choke attempt.
