UFC 255 is this weekend from the APEX in Las Vegas.  It features a great double main event!  Let’s break it down and give you our insight on who wins big.

The undercard features Alan Jouban vs Jared Gooden

Prediction – Jouban was once a top notch main card go to guy for the UFC, those days are well past.  He has lost 3 of 4 and only won once since 2016.  He is sliding and fast, Gooden will keep that slide moving.

The main card starts off with ageless wonder Mauricio Shogun Rua vs Paul Craig

Prediction – They had a controversial draw back in November of 2019 that a lot of people think Craig one.  He will get his chance to put Rua away for good this time.  I don’t think he will however as Rua has a great record in rematches.  Rua is on a good tear winning 5 of his last 7 with that draw and a loss.  He wins a close decision here.

Katlyn Chookagain vs Cynthia Calvillo

Prediction – At 14-4 with her only UFC losses coming to Andrade, Eye, Carmouche and Shevchenko, Katlyn Chookagain is to be taken seriously.  She still needs that big name win and will hope to get it this weekend against Calvillo.

Cynthia Calvillo has seen some early success at Flyweight and will look to keep that going this weekend.  This is a big fight and may steal the show.  I do see Chookagain picking up a big win this weekend and advancing her career further.

Mike Perry vs Tim Means

Mike Perry is a total joke and disgrace to the sport and he came into the weigh in almost 20 pounds overweight.  Why the UFC doesn’t cut him today is beyond me.  He is not worth the headache as he doesn’t take MMA seriously.

I’m not sure if Tim Means is the guy to do it, but he will be the fan favorite going into this one as many have had enough of the Perry antics at this point.  Sadly, it won’t matter, as I would put money on Perry winning by knockout.

UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko vs Jennifer Maia

The champ is the second-best pound for pound women competitor in the world behind Amanda Nunes.  In fact, she is 19-3, a winner of 5 straight and her only two losses have come against Nunes.  She is as close to untouchable as possible. Maia is tough and deserves this chance in the depleted division, but she has no chance.

UFC Flyweight men’s Champion Deiveson Figueiredo vs Alex Perez

This is another fight where the champion is a heavy favorite and for good reason.  He is 19-1 and coming off back to back demolitions of Joseph Benavidez with ease.  This will be no different!
