UFC 239 Recap & Reaction

Amanda Nunes knocked out Holly Holm at 4:10 of the first round.

Listen, Holm is a beautiful sweetheart that you want to take home to mom so she can see that great wholesome smile. She is also one of the best strikers in MMA history, not UFC, but in the world of MMA.

All that said, she is not Amanda Nunes. Write it down and never forget it, Nunes is the greatest of all time in women’s MMA. She is dominating quality opponents like Tate, Rousey, Cyborg and now Holm.

These are the top names in the history of women’s MMA and Nunes is running through them like a hot knife through butter.

This begs the question, what is next for Nunes? A rematch with Cyborg seems likely, but only if she stays in the UFC after her next fight. Since 2015, the only woman to truly push Nunes is Valentina Shevchenko who is the current UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion.

Many feel that Shevchenko who has lost to Nunes twice on razor thin decisions, actually won their last bout at UFC 215 in September of 2017. Perhaps Nunes would roll the dice on a 3-division championship match?
