Twinsburg Tigers Get Their First Win of the Season Against Akron North

The Twinsburg Tigers bounced back this week against the Akron North Vikings after their loss last week against Aurora. The Tigers won in a dominant 44-6 victory. 

It was the Vikings who got on the scoreboard first with a rushing touchdown by Sigmund Felding, making the score 6-0 for the rest of the first quarter. During the second quarter, the Twinsburg offense came alive with a touchdown from Joey Pollock to Rob Herndon. The Tigers also went for a two-point conversion which was ran in by Pollock himself. Just a few downs later, the Tigers’ defense came up with an interception by RJ Ruffin.

The very next possession, Ruffin received a pass from Pollock which he took all the way to the end zone for a Tigers touchdown. The next Twinsburg drive resulted in another touchdown pass by Pollock, this time to JD Okuma. The Twinsburg Tigers offensive onslaught continued their next drive when Pollock connected with Ruffin in the end zone for his second touchdown reception of the game. Pollock also ran in his second two-point conversion of the game. 

At halftime the Tigers had a demanding lead at 30-6. At the start of the third quarter, Pollock would find Okuma for his second touchdown reception of the night as well to extend the Twinsburg lead. The final Twinsburg points of the game came from Joe Ferrell with a rushing touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Next week, the Tigers will host the Copley Indians at Tiger Stadium looking to get their second win in a row. The Vikings will travel to Hoover next week looking to get their first win of the season.
