Known as Flex Kavana in the USWA, a young Dwayne Johnson was barely known by any WWF fan and was simply “a guy” on the team when he debuted as Rocky Mavia. He would tag alongside Jake Roberts, Marc Mero and The Stalker in a mid-card special match against Goldust, HHH, Crush and Jerry The King Lawler.
Little was expected of “Rocky Mavia” but he would end up being the sole survivor of the match and begin a large push as a babyface. It would ultimately fail, before the real push as a heel and the greatest personality in pro wrestling history would begin.
