The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs overcame a 2-0 third period deficit to pull off a thrilling 4-3 victory today over the Avon Eagles. The win improved their tournament record to 2-2 and dropped the Eagles tournament record to 1-3 to conclude the Tim Alexander Memorial Tournament.
After a scoreless first period, the Eagles broke the tie just nine seconds into the second period. Then, with only 2:43 remaining in the period, they would score again and take a commanding two goal lead into the break.
Down 2-0 and with 6:46 remaining in the game, it looked bleak for the Bulldogs until Noah Voeller got the Bulldogs on the board with a goal.
Three minutes later it was Voeller doing it again and tying the game with is second goal at the 3:57 remaining mark of the contest.
Moments later it was Colin Wilson continuing his strong tournament and giving the Bulldogs their first lead of the day at 3-2. Towards the end, it was Wilson yet again finding the back of the net to make it 4-2 and give the Bulldogs a commanding lead.
Avon would attempt their own comeback and for a moment, it looked as though they may actually pull it off when they scored with 54 seconds remaining. The Eagles couldn’t get any closer and the game would end with the Bulldogs hanging on 4-3.
