by As I scroll down my social media feed the last 48 hours, all I can see is fans of THIS IS US complain about Toby mistreating Kate, and it blows my mind. Let’s take a brief look at what this man has sacrificed.
He has sacrificed time away from his children, and wife for months to build a better life for all invovled. It is not easy being on the road away from family but he took the best job possible and has endured being away to set up a strong foundation for them.
The man has done nothing but better his life so he can be the absolute best and HEALTHY husband and father possible. This guy, lost weight, got healthy and went out and proved his worth. It is not his fault that he wanted to better his health, both physical and mental.
Kate has had a problem with everyone and everything since the day this show began. She blames everyone else for being unhappy, when 9 times out of 10, it has been her fault. Was it a lousy move for Toby to look at a house without her and speak with agents? Yes, it was, I’ll give her that, but all the other reasons everyone is upset with Toby are ridiculous.
He simply wants his wife and children with him every single day. When and why did that become a bad thing? Not to mention the fact, that a lot of men are cowards and would have taken off the day they found out their child was blind and their wife had no interest in losing weight at already being 400 plus pounds. This guy, stuck it out like a true and loyal husband should because that is what a real man is going to do.
It’s a shame, he has been loyal, fair and hardworking, and he comes across as a villain? Are you kidding me? He cannot help the fact Kate had a father who passed away. He cannot help the fact she had to get an abortion. He cannot help the fact that her job doesn’t pay more. He wanted to lose weight, he wanted to get a better job, both excellent things. Why is this his fault?
Now, if she “finds love” by cheating on Toby with the British Boss, I will have no respect left for her or any fan that sticks up for adultery. Enough!
The bottom line, every time he improves his life, she get’s angry! Is that really the spouse you’d want?

You said Toby was a “truly loyal husband”. I think you need to go back to when Toby was secretly going to the gym to lose weight and almost had an affair. He loses his job, sits around the house depressed and Kate went out and got a job and it was a job that give her meaning and purpose for the first time in her life. It takes two. Yes, he lost the weight, kudos to Toby on his journey but shame on you for not opening your eyes to what Kate has been trying to do, which is find her way. Have her journey. She climbed that hill and she has been fully supportive of Toby. His insecurities have kept him from being totally supportive of Kate.

Nope nope nope. Toby has been hiding stuff since he lost weight and got undressed in the dark. If he truly wanted his family to be together, why didn’t he take the job in LA? Oh I know why, because he likes being a bachelor in San Francisco. Period. If he wanted Kate to be a part of his life in SF, why didn’t he tell her about this house he’s been looking at for weeks? How dare he get preapproved for a loan without her? And then to drop an ultimatum on her – we’re here or we’re not at all? Nope Toby is all wrong here.

Married women everywhere are taking advice from women either in same sex relationships, nad busters,or women’s liberation activist. The heart of the family is going to hell in a hand basket and who cares as long as women can be the men while trying to castrate actual men. They don’t want equality they want to be men and mimic the very behavior they claim to want to eradicate.They were just jealous they couldn’t be men so now they’re mimicking men, trying to be men. I agree, I think Tony is right and I’m a woman. He is the head of this family and that requires making hard decisions. It was also sweet that he included her mother and Migale (spelling) that he knew she wouldn’t come if he hadn’t included them. Honestly the whole family has serious issues that honestly didn’t stem from their father’s death. There is so much to break down and sort through.
Agree with your comments. Toby is far less dysfunctional than Kate. All three “kids” are self absorbed and have low EQs. Spouses have to coddle and sacrifice constantly.
