If the rumors are true, the spinoff series will be based on the life of Toby and Kates son Jack. While it may be risky and has never been done before to have the lead character of a drama series blind, the producers feel his back story will be strong enough to carry it.
Also, it is said that the Kate and Toby characters would be instrumental in the filming and early seasons of the show. It would be in flashback mode such as This Is Us, with a jump the shark moment to end Season 3, of a flash forward, just as they did in this series and also in LOST. First three seasons go backwards, while next three show you glimpses of the future.
A musician who grew up in a split home, while fighting a disability to become a rock star. Oh, by the way, did we mention that his sister is adopted and he will eventually team up with her to help her find her birth mom? So much drama, so many storylines, “This Is Jack” has every chance to be a hit.
An announcement on the new spinoff can come as early as next week following the series finale. It will also be a Peacock exclusive and not on network television.
This decision was made in an effort to drive subscriptions up. They had peaked in April of 2021 with the arrival of the WWE Network, but have since dropped. NBC executives hope this will once again drive up viewership to the streaming service.
Continue this show, Do not cancel
I realize that this show is going to end next week but it sure would be great if we could have a spinoff so Mr Dan fogelman please come up with something else that they can make it’s as good as this if that’s possible. Thank you very much for this show I have not missed an episode.
I say end while you’re on top, just like they did. I love the show but think it will be a disservice to the show to have thrown together spin-offs
All endings are just new beginnings. I’m for a spin-off of the new generation
This is the best written show in a long time. I enjoyed every episode. As much as I would love for it to go on and on. I think this is the perfect ending. Many series go too long and begin reaching for subject matter. Eventually I give up, long before the writers do. “Grey’s Anatomy” is a perfect example of this.
Won’t be the same as the original show, but I’d definitely check it out. But was hoping we’d get a Randall and family spinoff, with cameos by the original cast that is left.
