The WWE Needs To Bring Back The King of the Ring PPV Because

The WWE has hit one hell of a lull as of late. Part of the problem appears to be lackluster storylines, and over programming or just plain lazy booking. Whatever the case may be, they seem to be out of idea’s. So, we say, why not bring back a classic that everyone loved? That classic of course is, “King of the Ring.”

We’re not talking about the one night tournament on RAW, or the three week tournament on Smackdown like last year with Baron Corbin.  We’re talking about the real thing, the one night PPV everyone loved!

It was a staple of many of our childhoods, into young adulthoods as well. King of the Ring was a PPV that lasted from 1993-2002 in a great ten-year stretch. It saw “young guns” such as Kurt Angle, Edge and Brock Lesnar win it, as well as rising legends Steve Austin, Bret Hart and HHH take their turn on the throne.

It also showcased strange booking decisions and one hit wonders such as Mabel, Ken Shamrock and Billy Gunn to name a few.

With so much talent on all three rosters, not to mention NXT, we figured why not bring it back and give the fans what they want instead of coming with cheesy PPV’s such as “Stomping Grounds”. We also thought it would be fun to take a look back at each year. Enjoy!
