It is extremely hard for anyone to argue this. With titles in the AWA, WCW, NWA & WWF, the dominated every territory they ever wrestled for.
They almost never lost, and were a force in every decade they wrestled in. They are vintage and modern all at once, Hawk and Animal did it all! With spikes, crazy haircuts and awesome looking face paint to go along with massive physiques, they were impossible not to cheer for.
They were the favorite in every match, and were never the underdog. No matter who they fought, you knew they were winning. Perhaps the biggest reason of all was the amount of tag teams that would come along and try to imitate them such as The Powers of Pain, The Ascension and Demolition just to name a few.
