Major news broke earlier today concerning a possible NFL Players strike being avoided. A collective bargaining agreement promising labor peace through 2030 has been approved by the league’s players. A total of 1,978 players voted.
The biggest change is to the schedule, which will now expand to 17 regular-season games as early as the 2021 season and add two additional playoff teams.
The agreement also makes way for the league to begin acquiring new television deals in the coming weeks and months.
More news will come out soon on how this will all work out. The smart money is on a pre-season game being eliminated. If your team has two home pre-season games, then you will have the standard 8 regular season games.
If your team is cut to one home pre-season game, then they will have 9 home regular season games. That is at least how we see it.
The rest of the sports world may be shutting down for a virus that effects less than 1% of the countries population, but the NFL is not stopping.
