The Most Forgotten WrestleMania Main Events of All Time

WrestleMania X

There were two matches on the undercard that are constantly talked about, and thus, no one even recalls or remembers the main event of Bret Hart winning the World Championship from Yokozuna.  Everyone rather, focuses on the undercard matches of Bret Hart losing to Owen Hart to start the show, as well as Razor Ramon winning the double ladder match against Shawn Michaels to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

WrestleMania 13

Perhaps one of the worst WrestleMania’s ever, saw one of the worst main events ever as The Undertaker defeated Sid in a snoozefest for the WWF World Championship.  You mention this WrestleMania to anyone, and the first thing anyone is going to mention is Austin vs Bret Hart in the iconic “Submission Match”.

WrestleMania 2000

The three-way first ever tag team title ladder match with the Dudley’s, Hardy’s and Edge with Christian stands the test of time and is the first and only thing people mention about this WrestleMania.  Oh, and maybe Chyna’s thong slip that ended up leading to a Playboy cover for her.

The actual main event was the long forgotten “McMahon in every corner” that saw Vince screwing over The Rock so HHH could retain the WWF World Championship.

WrestleMania X8

Fans have to think long and hard before they remember what the main event was at WrestleMania X8 from Toronto.  It was Chris Jericho versus HHH by the way as the latter won the WWF World Championship.  No one remembers it or even cares to talk about it because that year was about one match only, ICON vs ICON as The Rock took on Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

WrestleMania XX

Here is the problem with this one, the WWE buried the memory of Chris Benoit, so his win over HHH and Shawn Michaels for the World Championship, is never mentioned.  Thus, in a lot of newer fans memories, never existed.  That sad fact, coupled with the gigantic disappointment that was The Undertakers return combined with Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar letting everyone down, gives this main event zero chance to be remembered.   ( Poor Triple H, he has now appeared on this list 3 times already, and there is more to come)

WrestleMania 25

Quick, who was the main event of WrestleMania 25?  It’s ok, no one else remembers either.  It was Randy Orton challenging HHH for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by the way.  I mentioned it in the opening and you still forgot.  Reason being, it should have never went on last as it had to follow one of the greatest matches in industry history when The Undertaker clashed with Shawn Michaels.  The fourth appearance for HHH.

Speaking of HHH, look out for an article coming soon about his own WrestleMania odyssey.
