by WWE Legend The Iron Sheik has passed away at the age of 81.
Real name Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri, was a staple of the 1980’s Rock N Wrestling Connection in the WWF Boom Period! Along with Rowdy Roddy Piper, he was one of the top villains in the company to help put HulkaMania over.
In fact, it was he who ended the 6 year reign of Bob Backlund as WWF World Champion, before losing it to Hulk Hogan a month late at Madison Square Garden. The Iron Sheik later met with drug problems later in his career and never quite got back into the shape he needed to be to actively compete.
A&E recently did a documentary on his life. He was 81 at the time of is passing.
