The Grades Are In For Phoenix Theatres at Great Northern

Pricing of tickets

Grade – B

Reason – While the $4 Tuesday night movies with all you can eat popcorn may never return to American society, the fact that 4 tickets for a weeknight movie only cost us $38 was a major win for my family. Maybe a tad steep for some budgets, but quite honestly, not that bad at all with all things considered.

Pricing of concessions

Grade A+

Reason – I was shocked at the low cost of three large drinks, two jumbo popcorns, nacho’s and various candy choices.  While I feared for my life when the young man ringed us up, I was shockingly and pleasantly surprised when the bill was a little over $30.  We ordered that same amount of goodies at Westwood last month, and the bill was well north of $40. Not only that but the nacho’s came loaded with jalapeno’s and the popcorn was some of the best I’ve ever had.  Perhaps best of all, free concession refills on popcorn and soda!

Customer service

Grade A

Reason – They have returned to the oldie but goodie tear your ticket approach.  That was GREAT! As a guy who loves to save his ticket stubs, that tradition has become extinct.  It was nice to see someone actually cares that a person may want to keep a physical memory of their experience.  I pray this habit makes a comeback with sporting events and concerts as well.

Comfort and Sounds

Grade B

Reason – It wasn’t too loud, but you could feel the powerful moments in your bones.  As for comfort, the seats heated up and reclined.  The only reason this is getting a B and not an A, is the sole fact that the heat feature doesn’t have a nice medium.  You feel like your back is on fire after about 30 seconds.  If they can find a way to toy with the temperature control, the comfort level would be perfect.

Our final thoughts on the experience can be found on page three.
