by The Field Falcons once again showed a clear focus on the running game with senior running back Drexal Mcamis. The Falcons run game and strong defensive performance led the way to a 24-17 victory over the Bay Rockets.
Bay Rockets quarterback Michael Farrel lost a fumble on the opening drive of the game. As a result Field running back Drexal Mcamis scored on a 5 yard touchdown run in the first quarter putting Field ahead 7-0. Bay failed to move the ball against the Falcon defense in the first quarter which ended with Field leading 7-0.
Both offenses were sloppy throughout the first half as fumbled snaps, penalties, turnovers, and miscommunications caused problems for both teams. However, Bay Rockets quarterback Michael Farrell threw a 45 yard touchdown to Cooper Baruxes with 2:30 left in the first half making the score 7 all. The defensive first half full of sloppy offense ended with Field and Bay tied at 7.
The offensive struggles continued as the third quarter was scoreless and the game remained tied at 7. However, Field managed to drive down to the Bay one yard line but Bay’s defense turned away the Falcons with a goal line stand.
The Falcons managed to score on a 32 yard field goal from Alec Grimm to start the fourth quarter up 10-7. However, Bay finally had a positive drive going in the fourth quarter which took up a lot of clock and ended in a Ali Saad field goal to tie the game at 10 with just over 2 minutes remaining. Neither team could score in the final 2 minutes of regulation with the score still tied at 10 leading into overtime.
In overtime Bay scored on a 17 yard touchdown pass from Michael Farrell to Evan Taulbee to take a 17-10 lead. Drexal Mcamis answered with a 3 yard touchdown run to tie the game in overtime at 17 all. In the second overtime Drexal Mcamis scored again on a 13 yard touchdown run to give Field a 24-17 lead. Finally, Field’s defense held on to win in double overtime 24-17 after a failed hail mary attempt by Bay’s backup quarterback Patrick Cleary.

Quarterback Peyton Anderson completed 6 passes on 8 attempts for 68 yards.

Quarterback Michael Farrell completed 5 passes on 17 attempts for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns, Farrell also rushed for 54 yards on 10 carries.
Wide receiver Joey Guyette had a 45 yard touchdown catch.
