02/06/2023: The Cavs travel to face the Washington Wizards which will be Cleveland’s second day in a row with a game. The Cavs should be feeling good after yesterday’s win against the Indiana Pacers, but nowadays back to backs are always a tough task to teams. The Cavs enter the day with a 33-22 record, and the Washington Wizards have a 24-28 record.

Washington is still a struggling team but they’re trying to stay afloat and approach
.500, as they currently sit at 10th place in the East. Washington is headlined by their Big Three of Stars, Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma, and Kristaps Porzingis so the Cavs need to bring the defense, and if they do they should win pretty easily.

The Wizards will be without 2 of their 3 best players tonight, Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma.

1st Quarter

The scoring started off quickly with Donovan Mitchell scoring 7 of the first 12 Cavalier points. By the first timeout, the Cavs had a 5 point lead and were looking pretty good as Mitchell had 7 points and Evan Mobley had 6 to this point.

The Cavs came out firing and laying on the defense after the timeout, everyone was in sync and the Cavs jumped out to a 30-17 lead by the next timeout. The Cavs kept control until the end of the quarter in which they led 37-25.

2nd Quarter

The Cavs started off the quarter hot as expected, and it was mainly thanks to Darius Garland who got himself to 12 points early in the second. The Cavs to this point played amazing on both ends as they held a 20 point lead with 2:30 to go before the half.

The Cavs continued to completely control the game as they lead 66-46 at the half. All 5 Cavs starters had double digit points at the half, Garland 12, Allen 16, Mitchell 11, Okoro 12, Mobley 10.

Third Quarter

It wouldn’t take long for the first timeout of the second half to be called as the Wizards gained a little bit of momentum after stringing together a couple of baskets which cut the Cavalier lead down to 18.

There’s not much else to say about the 3rd quarter as the Cavs held a 24 point lead going into the 4th as this has been one of the Cavs best defensive games.

4th Quarter

During the whole game, the Cavs showed pure domination to the delight of Cavs fans everywhere. All of the Cavs starters put on a show, not only did they all have double digit points by halftime, but three of them scored 20 points or more which was Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Jarrett Allen.

By the 5 minute mark, the game was all but over as both teams started to sit their starters because the Cavs had the victory sealed. It was an impressive night by the Cavs as they win this one easily by a score of 114-91.
