The Cavs Defeat the Nets 115-109, Will Face Them Again on Thursday.

03/21/2023: The Cavaliers travel to Brooklyn to play them the next two games, being today and Thursday. All-Star Center Jarrett Allen is back in the lineup for the Cavaliers to battle Brooklyn and the scorching hot Star Forward, Mikal Bridges. Brooklyn is in prime position to nab that 6th Playoff spot despite recently trading Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

First Quarter:

The game started as a back and forth affair with the teams just trading baskets for the first 5 minutes of the game. It was 13-13 at this point when the first timeout of the game was taken, as the Cavs needed to draw up a game-plan to contain Mikal Bridges who had 6 early points.

Brooklyn went on a nice run after some turnovers by the Cavs, but the Cavs stuck to the game-plan and simply kept the game close, but they had some things to polish up for the second quarter. A Joe Harris triple put Brooklyn up 7 at the end of 1, 30-23.

Second Quarter:

The Cavs came out aggressive in the second quarter after back to back threes from Donovan Mitchell, the Cavs were in the lead. The Cavs kept rolling as they took charge of a 19-6 run, and had a 7 point lead by the 6 minute mark of the quarter.

The Cavs showed some great shooting not only from Donovan Mitchell, but Cedi Osman added two threes himself which was good to see, some bench scoring. Evan Mobley added two straight buckets and kept the Cavs in control with two minutes left in the half. The Cavs had a solid lead at the half, 61-55.

Third Quarter:

The Cavs continued to extend their lead after the half going on an 8-0 run after a couple of 3-point plays by Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. The Cavs continued to score at an unbelievable rate, and by the 6 minute mark, the lead was up to 24.

The Cavs seemed to let up on the gas a bit, but still held a 94-78 lead going into the final quarter after a Caris LeVert triple at the buzzer.

Fourth Quarter:

It was great to see the Cavs continue their steady pace, especially after a thunderous slam by Mitchell and a 3-pointer right after it. The Nets went on an 11-0 run in the middle of the 4th, and it seemed like the Nets weren’t gonna let this game go without a fight. The Cavs held Brooklyn off to win the game, 115-109.
