The Biggest Wins In The History Of The New Era Browns

2011 Week 3 17-16 over Miami

This season gave us some very slim pickings for anything memorable. A total disaster from Week One with Pat Shurmer now at the helm. This win did improve their record to 2-1 and it was a last second Colt McCoy drive that did it.

A young quarterback, a big last second win, it all looked good at 2-1. Once again it was fools gold as the Browns would only win 2 of their final 13 games to end the season. Including mixing in a six game losing streak to close out the season.

One last thing, it should be noted that Peyton Hillis didn’t play that day as he was suffering from a serious case of strep throat…..

2012 Week 13 30-7 over KC

It was a big win over Romeo Crennell and Brady Quin in blowout fashion at home. It was their third win in a row and improved their record to 5-8. Thanks to a weak AFC that season it actually kept their slim playoff hopes alive as well.

They finished the season at 5-11 but it could have been so much better than it was. They blew sizable leads against the New York Giants, the Dallas Cowboys and turned Michael Vick and the Eagles over 5 times in a narrow 17-16 opening day loss. Also, in that Eagles loss, rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden threw four interceptions himself.

2013 Week 5 37 – 24 win over Buffalo on Thursday Night Football

For one brief moment in time, everything looked so good for Cleveland. Brian Hoyer had led them to two straight wins heading into a Prime-Time clash with Buffalo. Hoyer, however, would get knocked out in the opening quarter sliding as the Browns dug a 10-0 hole.

Brandon Weeden would come in and lead the Browns on a 17-0 run in the second quarter. The Browns would expound on that lead in the second half and take home the 37-24 win.

This was the first last and only season that Josh Gordon was the best receiver in football and it showed that night as he brought in 4 catches for 86 yards and a touchdown. Also, big that night was former Bill and veteran RB Willis McGahee who scored twice and had 74 yards on the ground.
