The Biggest Wins In The History Of The New Era Browns

2009 Week 13 13-6 on Thursday Night Football

It was nearly 0 degrees with the wind shield and the Browns were 1-11 at the time. The Steelers were the defending Super Bowl Champions. You had to be either nuts or spent a lot of money on a ticket several months prior to attend this one. It seemed as though the Browns had the number one pick locked up.

It was an ugly game that saw the $13 beer’s freeze before thirsty patrons could take more than 2 gulps of them. In shocking fashion, the Browns played with a fire and passion not seen in years as they took down the defending champs.

The win was so inspiring for the Browns, they would go on to win their final three games of the season after this one, and finish the year at 5-11.

2010 Week 8 34-13 over New England

Peyton Hillis ran for 184 yards on 24 carries to lead the Browns past former head coach Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, Aaron Hernandez and the Patriots. It was Colt McCoy’s second straight win as a starting quarterback and gave Browns fans some serious momentum. His first win came the prior week in New Orleans.

Suddenly the Browns were the NFL’s Cinderella story with back to back shocking wins. It should also be noted that Tom Brady’s backup that day was a young man named Brian Hoyer who saw time late in the blowout.
