The Biggest Wins In The History Of The New Era Browns

2008 – Week 5 35-14 victory over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football

The lights were on bright as MNF came to town to witness the Browns defeat the defending the Super Bowl champions. The defense picked off Eli Manning 3 times and sacked him four more times in a dominating effort.

When Eric Wright picked off Manning and returned it 94 yards to score, it was all over but the shouting at 35-14 with 8 minutes still left to play. Derek Anderson finished with 310 yards and two touchdowns tosses. Much maligned receiver Braylon Edwards had the game of his career with 154 yards on 5 catches and a touchdown.

The win improved their record to 2-3 and gave them hope as it was their second straight victory. It would prove to be fools gold however as they would only win two more times the rest of the season.

They would lose their final 6 in a row, including being shutout in the final two against the Bengals and Steelers to cost Romeo Crennel his job. Romeo finished his four year stint in charge with 1 winning season and a 0-8 record against Pittsburgh.
