The Biggest Wins In The History Of The New Era Browns

2001 – Week 6 24-14 over Baltimore

It was their first win over Baltimore since returning to the NFL and improved their record to 4-2 on the season. Can you imagine that, 4-2. They haven’t made a habit of starting the season that hot. In fact, I don’t think they have ever again.

Their playoff season of 02 they began at 2-4. Their 10-win season in 2007 they began 3-3 and, in their Mike Pettine, false hope season of 2014, they began 3-3.

Here’s a fun fact, the defending Superbowl Champion Baltimore Ravens went with a quarterback combination that day of Elvis Grbac (yes that’s how you spell it) and Randal Cunningham.

Tim Couch had two more touchdown passes that day and James Jackson ran for 77 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.

2002 – Week 16 24-16 win over Atlanta

Three simple words, run William run! The big victory put the Browns in the playoffs. A crazy season that saw Cleveland win 7 of their last 10 in an impressive playoff push. Crowd favorite Kelly Holcomb came off the bench to save the day.
