The Bachelorette: Recap & Reaction As Hometowns Are Set

Tonight was the final episode of the show before “Hometowns”.  There were tears, revelations and laughs.  Plenty of everything to go around, but a clear vision on the final four came into crystal clearness as Katie was once again decisive and to the point with her feelings.

Let’s get right to the action.

Greg gets another solo date.

While the date itself seemed like it was a nice one, there is just something about Greg that is a little off these days.  Maybe it is just me, but he just doesn’t seem genuine anymore and when he talks, it is as if he reading from a script.  Rumors have it that he came on the show to jumpstart a staled acting career, perhaps that is starting to shine through?

While everyone of Katie’s emotions seems 100% legit, his are starting to seem rehearsed.  Perhaps it’s all in my head, perhaps it’s not?  Either way, his wishy-washy ways will eventually take it’s toll on Katie before she sends him packing.

Brendan gets sent home early into the episode.

My hat is off to Katie for not stringing him along any further.  My other hat is off to Brendan for knowing when enough is enough. It took some courage, and maybe a little alcohol, for Brendan to walk over to her room and initiate his departure.

The only question for me is this, why wouldn’t she have let him go last week instead of stringing him a long another week?  It makes you wonder if the producers have a heavy hand and give a limit to how many roses she is forced to handout every week.

How do you root against Mike A?

With the exception the family members and close friends of the other men remaining, who couldn’t possibly be rooting for Mike A right now?  Has there ever been a more sentimental contestant in show history?  As a father, you can always spot another good father a mile away.  Mike is a good man, and it doesn’t take long to figure that out.

While many have questions about Greg being genuine, there is no questions in the sincerity of Mike from Akron. He may not be your typical shirtless wonder contestant that has the girls dreamy over him, but he is a man’s man.  From one committed Dad to another, I can’t help but pull for him.

Mike P and Andrew get sent home.

I’m not surprised at either one of these quite frankly.  Andrew S came across as the best friend, even older brother chemistry with Katie at times.

She seemed truly upset to let him go, but she said it all when she said she couldn’t face his family next week knowing how she felt.  I thought it was a class act move for him to say goodbye the next day with smiles.  They took a lot of courage and heart.

As for Mike P, it is what it is I guess.  He seemed like a good person, and had his morals in check.  Any woman would be lucky to have him, but there are just some things that don’t line up at times. I hope we get to see him again down the line.

Only one thing left to figure out now, was that note from Andrew enough to put any future doubt in her mind about the other four?

Oh by the way, not that we like to say we told you so, but…. (see below article)
