The Bachelor Catches Covid as the Women Cry

Gabi gets the first solo date

Good for her!  I’ve been a Gabi fan since day one.  She has had her moments of drama, but has kept a smile on her face and earned this date in London.  Best of all, she didn’t ruin this date by talking about all of her baggage and issues, she just lived for the moment and that is what this show should be about.

A little shopping, a little lunch, a romantic dinner.  This was a fun one, and the beauty of Gabi really shined though.  I’ve long said she is my pick to take it all as long as she doesn’t get involved in any major drama or girl clashes.  It may be tough though as Greer had a major breakdown once again not being picked and watching Gabi show up with bags from all the shopping. In the end, she gets the rose and advances to the next round of the tournament.  I mean, show, advances to the next round of the show….

The Group Date gets cancelled

The first group date of the day goes south quickly as Zach is sick, and sends a card letting the girls know to go out and have a day to themselves.  They almost look like a room full of robots trying their hardest to show any emotion.  It leads to one over the top comment after another which just leaves everyone annoyed and feeling awkward.

Ariel has the best reaction, she doesn’t even care and is just happy to explore London on a double decker bus.  I think she is comfortable in the fact that she is the most attractive women on the show this year, and couldn’t care less if she is picked or not.  I believe she knows she is getting national exposure and this will only help whatever career she has next.

And oh hey, Greer decides to get drunk, because you know, that will fix everything….. They then decide to slam into a phone booth  where one of them farts.  All of this leads to them mocking an English guard at the Castle.  All in all, a pretty productive day.

Greer loses her “charm” and shows nothing but disrespect by mocking Zach for being sick and acting like some sort of victim.  Hey Greer, you just got a free trip to London for literally doing nothing but looking attractive on the outside.  You may want to can the self-pity.

Jesse Palmer breaks the news that Zach has Covid

The next morning, Jesse breaks the news to the room that Zach has Covid, which means no solo date for Charity.  She is clearly emotional and rightfully so.  A part of her must feel guilty for being upset, but honestly, can you blame her?

Katie makes the most of the opportunity as she surprises Zach outside of his hotel door with a care package and a nice conversation.  I have to say too, this is the type of thing that is genuine and means a lot to people.  I’ve had Covid twice, and I will never forget the people who reached out and those who didn’t.  It truly means a lot.

They decide to have a virtual cocktail party so each women gets a chance to talk to him through a computer screen.  So, not ideal, but still a chance to show some communication skills. Greer continues to shoot herself in the foot by comparing his Covid to her missing the quarter end of a sales quota when she had Covid once.  Her true me first persona continues to peak through, and I think Zach is finally starting to pick up on it too.
