The 10 Greatest Shows Ever

Cheers

Ted Danson cast as Sam Malone was absolutely perfect!  The ex-ballplayer, acholic owning a bar, the episodes wrote themselves. The lead romantic foil for Sam was Diane who left after season 5, and the show managed to get better after her departure and go for 6 more strong seasons.  It also produced a quality spinoff sitcom for NBC called “Frasier”.

If you were a Boston sports or political fan, you would have loved this show as it is filled with guest appearances from former Yankee’s, Red Sox and Bruins.  Also, political figures such as John Kerry.

They replaced Diane with Rebecca and Coach with Woody and the show got even better.  Norm and Cliff became the most famous bar flies of all time!  They barely changed the scenery and it didn’t matter.  Like the apartment at Seinfeld, the Bar became the place everyone wanted to be.
