It’s been a season of change within the last two months and that story seems to continue. Maryland sophomore and former Massilon Jackson star Taylor Mikesell has entered the transfer portal, as she announced on Instagram Thursday afternoon.
Mikesell’s departure is now the third player on the team to enter the transfer portal, following the likes of Olivia Owens and Shakira Austin.

With sophomore Shakira Austin transferring to Mississippi Wednesday afternoon, Mikesell would have been the lone returning starter for the Terps next season.
As a freshman, she was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year after knocking down a school-record 95 3-pointers in 34 games. This past season, Mikesell was named a Big Ten honorable mention after averaging 13.4 points, 3.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game as she saw an uptick in playing time.
“We really appreciate Taylor’s hard work in her two years,” said Maryland head coach Brenda Frese in a statement to The Washington Post. “Taylor contributed to a lot of wins here at Maryland and she was part of two Big Ten championships. We wish her nothing but success as her journey continues.”
All these transfer seem to I’m not getting what I want so I’ll try somewhere else. I guess you just have to root for the Jersey not the player. This is not good for college basketball . Women or Men.
