Tallmadge Dominates over Roosevelt in Victory 70-21

Kent, OH– On October 7, the Roosevelt Rough Riders kicked off their eighth game of the season against Tallmadge. Tallmadge amassed 70 points(!) while Roosevelt was kept quiet with 21. Hundreds of fans supported their teams on the cold and rainy day. The Rough Riders now possess a 2-6 record and Tallmadge a 6-2 record after tonight’s game for the 2022-2023 season. 

First Half 

The game started with both Tallmadge and Roosevelt scoring a touchdown early in the first quarter. Senior Ben Ahwajee scored a second touchdown with a kick completion from Cameron Carvaines to bring the end of the quarter with a score of 14-7 with Tallmadge in the lead. 

Tallmadge dominated the second quarter with outstanding offense, racking up four touchdowns to comfortably separate themselves.

Two touchdowns were from senior Jackson Dougherty, Collin Dixon matched him, and one came courtesy of freshman, Quenton Johns. The score going into the second half was 21-49 favoring the visiting Blue Devils.

Second Half 

Roosevelt’s defense was unable to control Tallmadge’s offense as they went on to score three additional touchdowns coming out of halftime. Roosevelt managed to score a touchdown with five minutes left in the quarter from junior Tyrel Ellington. The game ended with a victory for Tallmadge . –

Roosevelt will play at Revere next week and Tallmadge will be back at home to play Copley.
