SWC Prepares For Friday Night Shootout At Finnie

If you hear loud shotgun bangs going off this Friday Night in Berea, don’t be alarmed. Those explosions you are hearing are just the laser beam touchdown tosses that will be sure to be coming from Berea Midpark Titan quarterback Trevor “The Duke” Bycznski as well as his opposing quarterback Midview’s Seamus Higley.

The field at George Finnie Stadium on the campus of Baldwin Wallace will need to be re-enforced as these two high octane offensives are set to light it on fire and perhaps crack the foundation with massive amounts of scoring and touchdown rumbles from Berea Midparks Bryce Agnew, as well as Connor Wolfe from Midview.

It is two of the most high-powered offenses in the state set to collide. Both of which are highly feisty this week coming off of rare losses. The Middie’s lost their big matchup with the undefeated Avon Eagles on the road while Berea Midpark lost a heartbreaker at home against Amherst.

The Midview Middies come in the heavy favorites and should be considering what they bring to the table. Lining up out wide for Higley to throw too will be the likes of such speedsters as Isiah Johnson, Alonzo Banks, Nick Crum, Ben Grendics and RJ Stanford. This high profile, large scoring offense has put up some huge nights this season, including 52 earlier this season against North Olmsted.

Standing in the way of Higley and the Middie’s will be Linebacker Beau Bachie and a rather angry Titan defense after last week’s loss. Simply put, with the sensational offense of the Titans, if this defense can hold Midview to under 35 points, they stand a great chance at pulling off the upset heard around the state.

What about that offense? What can be said that hasn’t already been said? Well, let me point out that even after a loss, this attack is still deadly. They scored 41 in a defeat but average 49 points a game with a 3-2 record. Those my friends, are the stats legends and folk heroes are made of. If it wasn’t for some overthrown balls, and dropped passes right in the numbers last week, they would have easily put up 60 plus on the Comets.

Coach Jon Hunek has said it all year, “start fast and finish strong” and the Titans cannot be beat. We will all find out if they are contenders, or pretenders this Friday night from George Finnie Stadium in Berea. This reporter smells upset, and you head it here first.

Final score
Berea Midpark 49
Midview 41
