SWC Girls Basketball Power Rankings

1 Westlake

What can I say that hasn’t already been said by myself or other media outlets about this Lady Demon squad? They play as a team, run an incredible press, pass the ball and are never out of a game despite who they are playing and where.

This was never more proven then this past week as they trailed at Olmsted Falls, and then Avon Lake. In both games they came roaring back to win.

While a lot of attention goes towards senior stars Abby Carrington and Gina Adams, both well deserved! You cannot look past the incredible play by the underclassmen on this team as well.

Sophomores Katie Whitesell and Abbie Gardner are masterful to watch play defense and attack the boards. Junior sensation Emma Hall is the best three ball shooter in the SWC.

The Lady Demons are coached by a proven winner in Karen Swanson Haan, and after an early exit last season in the playoffs, are more motivated then ever.

While some may have worried about a letdown after the dramatic win in Olmsted Falls, this Demon squad proved they are too seasoned and well coached to let that happen, and took down Avon Lake on the road Wednesday night.
