Shaker Heights, Ohio – The Strongsville Mustangs finished the 2024 portion of their season with a 68-61 victory over the host Laurel Gators on Tuesday night.
The Mustangs had three players finish in double figures, led by senior Kennedi Neale with 29 points. Neale had 11 of her 29 in the fourth quarter, knocking down a three to give Strongsville the lead, and adding a pair of big-time baskets.
Sophomore Sidney Butera finished with 20 points, coming up with a pair of huge steals, and going 6 for 6 at the charity stripe in the final stanza. Senior Sydney Bass also finished in double figures with ten.
Strongsville moves to 9-1 and hosts Olmsted Falls on Friday, January 3rd. Laurel drops to 3-8 and travels to Ellet on Wednesday, January 8th. They were led by sophomore Tristan Williams, who finished with 25 points. Williams, a Division I recruit, scored 13 of her 25 in the first half. Junior guard Olivia Schneider had 17 points, knocking down three triples on the evening for the Gators.
