Hudson, Ohio – In their first game back from an 18-day pause, the Streetsboro Rockets won, 63-33, over Ellet Thursday night.
Streetsboro raced out to an early lead, 5-0, thanks to a three point jumper, then a jam by Devin Reese.
But Ellet clawed back, thanks to buckets from Tanner Contos and Trevor Ingham. They trailed 15-11 after the first quarter.
The Rockets outscored Ellet, 18-7, in the second quarter. They led, 33-15, thanks to a Micah Schuster tip in at the end of the first half.
From there, Streetsboro pulled away in the second half, and cruised to the win. Other Rocket players that scored include Gabe Gill, Bryce Vecchio, Colby Benjamin, and Bryan Nobles.
Senior forward Devin Reese had 22 points to pace all scorers, and junior guard Micah Schuster added 12.
Senior forward Tanner Contos had 10 for the Orangemen.
Streetsboro improves to 3-2 overall. They travel to Woodridge to continue Metro Conference play Tuesday night.
Ellet drops to 3-7 overall. They host Youngstown East in a non-conference matchup Tuesday night.
